Hong Kong to Host 94th INTERPOL General Assembly in 2026

Hong Kong has been selected to host the 94th INTERPOL General Assembly, marking the first time the event will be held in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). This selection underscores Hong Kong's strategic importance in global policing and highlights China's trust in the HKSAR and its police force. Vice Minister of Public Security, Mr. Xu Datong, expressed pride, recalling previous assemblies held in Beijing.

The General Assembly, a key governance event for INTERPOL, brings together police chiefs and ministers from 196 member states to discuss global security issues. The Hong Kong Commissioner of Police, Mr. Chow Yat-ming, noted this as an opportunity to showcase Hong Kong's role as a "super connector" in international policing.

The Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF) plays an active role within INTERPOL, contributing expertise in major crime trends, cybercrime, and financial crime. The HKPF is enhancing ties with international law enforcement, focusing on intercepting cross-border fraudulent funds through platforms like FRONTIER+.
