Hong Kong Hosts Asia's First LEAP East Tech Summit
Hong Kong recently marked a milestone with the Asian debut of Saudi Arabia's premier tech conference, LEAP, hosted at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). The event, LEAP East 2026, took over 35,000 square meters of space and succeeded in bringing together over 300 startups and 600 investors, showcasing assets under management exceeding US$6.5 trillion. The conference drew more than 25,000 attendees, including professionals, policymakers, and investors, showcasing Hong Kong's capacity as a significant hub for international technological exchanges.
LEAP East's success underscores Hong Kong's strategic role in global innovation and technology leadership. Ms. Monica Lee-Müller, Managing Director of HML, highlighted the collaboration between Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia's governments, which facilitated this significant event. Her statements emphasized the HKCEC's dedication to evolving as a platform for a diverse range of industries to demonstrate their achievements.
Tahaluf and the Hong Kong SAR government have agreed on a three-year exclusive LEAP East deal, affirming Hong Kong as the event's Asian host city. Ms. Annabelle Mander, EVP of Tahaluf, acknowledged the synergy between Saudi Arabia and Hong Kong, reinforcing the latter's status as a natural launch site for tech collaborations.
