Hillcrest and Equipmake Advance Licensing Talks for ZVS Technology
Hillcrest Energy Technologies Ltd. has announced an expansion of negotiations with Equipmake plc regarding its Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) inverter technology. Originally focused on joint development, the discussion now includes commercial licensing terms aimed at integrating Hillcrest’s ZVS technology into Equipmake's powertrain products.
Initially, a non-binding Letter of Intent (LOI) was signed on July 9, 2026, outlining a development program. The parties are now working towards a comprehensive agreement covering both development and commercial licensing. This strategic shift seeks to establish a clear path from engineering to market if development succeeds.
CEO Don Currie sees this development as essential for securing a long-term partnership. Meanwhile, Equipmake CEO Ian Foley appreciates the potential enhancement ZVS technology offers their inverters. Negotiations are expected to conclude in October 2026.
