H2APEX and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners Form Hydrogen Project Alliance
H2APEX Group SCA has partnered with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) to advance a hydrogen project in Lubmin. CIP has acquired a 70% stake in H2APEX's initial IPCEI-funded phase through its Energy Transition Fund. The partnership aims to secure EU funding of EUR 167 million and gather additional resources necessary for the project's development.
CIP will invest EUR 15 million in the venture until the final investment decision is reached. The goal is to co-finance a project volume in the hundreds of millions by the commissioning stage. H2APEX plans an initial annual production capacity of 10,000 tons of green hydrogen, equating to 100 MW.
Focus will remain on component reservation and the approval process until the next construction phase in 2026. Long-term aims include reaching a capacity of over 1,000 MW in Lubmin.
