Hapag-Lloyd Reports 2025 Performance and Proposes Dividend

Hapag-Lloyd AG released its 2025 annual report, showcasing strong performance and a proposed dividend of EUR 3.00 per share. Despite volumes and results being solid, earnings were lower than the previous year due to reduced freight rates and increased operational costs. The Group reported an EBITDA of USD 3.6 billion and an EBIT of USD 1.1 billion. A dividend payout of EUR 0.5 billion is proposed.

In the Liner Shipping segment, revenues rose to USD 20.6 billion with an 8% increase in transport volumes. However, average freight rates decreased by 8%. The Terminal & Infrastructure segment saw a revenue increase, attributed to new terminals and throughput growth.

Looking ahead to 2026, Hapag-Lloyd anticipates earnings to decline due to geopolitical instability and increased operational costs. The company aims to mitigate these impacts by leveraging cost savings from its Gemini network and expanding its terminals portfolio under the Hanseatic Global Terminals brand.
