Hangzhou Forum: Bridging Youth and Museums Through Technology
From April 23 to 25, the Third UNESCO High-Level Forum for Museums took place in Hangzhou, China. Over 190 international museum directors and experts gathered to discuss key topics such as the transformation of museums with digital technology and AI. This forum also acted as a cultural exchange platform for international youth like Aymene, a student from Morocco. At the Liangzhu Museum, he experienced the "Liangzhu Ancestors AI Face Swap Generator," experiencing firsthand the impact of AI in museums.
Another engaging experience for attendees was the AR headset tour, where ancient artifacts came alive through immersive technology. Such innovations are breaking perception barriers, making history more accessible. The forum raised questions about how museums and Generation Z can engage mutually. Answers are emerging as museums turn into interactive venues with storytelling and technology-driven experiences.
