HHLA Revises Down 2026 Earnings Forecast
Hamburger Hafen und Logistik Aktiengesellschaft (HHLA) announced a downward revision of its earnings forecast for the 2026 financial year. Based on recent business developments and updated fourth-quarter estimates, HHLA's Executive Board has adjusted its operating result (EBIT) expectations. The company's Port Logistics subgroup now anticipates an EBIT ranging between €100 million and €120 million, a decrease from the previously projected €135 million to €155 million.
Two significant factors have influenced this adjustment. Firstly, strike-related disruptions and ongoing automation at Hamburg's container terminals have negatively impacted container throughput. Secondly, a non-cash impairment loss of €12 million has been identified in the Logistics segment, arising from a portfolio review of equity investments in new and spin-off business activities.
Despite these challenges, HHLA's overall revenue and container transport forecasts remain unchanged, indicating a significant and slight increase, respectively, as per previous guidance.
