H55 Partners with Safran for Electric Propulsion in Aviation

H55, based in Switzerland, has partnered with Safran to integrate the ENGINeUS electric motor into its electric propulsion system. This collaboration aims at powering the fully electric Bristell B23 Energic aircraft. The partnership is set to accelerate the availability of certified electric propulsion for general aviation, focusing on aircraft seating two to six passengers.

This move comes in response to the rise in demand for eco-friendly pilot training aircraft. The Bristell B23 Energic will serve as the initial certification platform, addressing the electric aviation market's need for lower operating costs and zero emissions.

Safran will support prototype and serial production phases starting in 2027. H55's selection of the ENGINeUS motor highlights its industry-leading power-to-weight ratio and performance. The integration with H55's energy storage capabilities offers a comprehensive solution for electric aviation manufacturers.
