H55 Achieves Milestone in Energy Storage System Validation
On April 29, 2026, H55 announced the successful completion of System Safety Function Verification Testing for its integrated Energy Storage System (ESS). This marks a significant step forward in the journey towards system certification. H55's ESS was tested in a fully integrated setup, incorporating crucial components like Battery Modules and Battery Management Units.
The testing validated system-level performance and key safety functionalities. It confirmed the system's ability to disconnect power safely under predefined conditions, a critical feature for aviation use. This achievement underlines the robustness of H55’s approach, aligning with aviation certification standards.
The milestone goes beyond hardware, representing progress in H55's software roadmap. Anthony D'Ambrisi, Head of H55’s Design Organization, highlighted this as a step towards both technology de-risking and certification readiness.
H55 aligns its developmental processes with certification requirements from the start, differentiating itself from competitors. With increasing demand for electric propulsion, H55 bolsters the transition to electrified aviation as the industry moves towards decarbonization.
