Grande Portage Advances Infrastructure for New Amalga Gold Project

Grande Portage Resources Ltd. has announced significant progress in developing transportation infrastructure at the New Amalga Gold site in Southeast Alaska. Recent efforts focus on gaining a State of Alaska road easement, transitioning into the adjudication stage with the Department of Natural Resources. This step is vital for initiating mine access road construction, while also enhancing helicopter efficiency by establishing a closer staging area.

Progress has been made on the ore barge dock at Cascade Point, in collaboration with Goldbelt Inc. and the Alaska Department of Transportation. A $28.5M contract for development work marks the project's advancement. Additionally, a $1.3M contract with Juneau Hydro aims to provide renewable power to Cascade Point, reducing emissions.

The New Amalga project aims for a small-footprint underground operation, focusing on offsite gold processing and minimizing environmental impact. This strategy eliminates the need for onsite mills or tailings storage, facilitating a simpler regulatory process.
