Goldman Sachs modifies its stake in Renault
On May 6, 2026, Renault received two threshold crossing notices from Goldman Sachs International. On April 30, the company exceeded 5% of Renault's share capital, reaching 5.41% with 15,986,310 shares. However, on May 1, a sale reduced its stake to 3.96%, representing 11,699,265 shares. Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., for its part, did not cross any thresholds, but indirectly held 6.79% of Renault's share capital on April 30, decreasing to 5.50% on May 1.
The moves include complex transactions such as securities lending and call and put options linked to Renault shares. These strategic adjustments illustrate Goldman Sachs's financial activism in the European automotive market, despite a rapidly declining stake.
