Gold Port Corporation Shifts Strategy for Groete Gold Copper Project
Gold Port Corporation, a mining company based in Vancouver, has announced a strategic shift in its approach to accessing the Groete Gold Copper project in Guyana. After previous attempts to construct road access with a contractor, the company has decided to use its own personnel and acquire heavy equipment for the task.
The decision includes the purchase of an excavator and other machinery necessary for both road development and future drilling operations at the site. Gold Port plans to begin this work soon, with intentions to restructure the existing camp using modular systems and relocate a core rig for drilling.
Adrian F. C. Hobkirk, President and CEO, stated that this approach is more cost and time-efficient. The Groete project, which Gold Port owns entirely, aims to elevate its inferred gold copper resource from the last exploration in 2012.
