Global Uranium and Forum Energy Metals Update on Athabasca Exploration
Global Uranium Corp. and Forum Energy Metals have announced advancements in their exploration efforts at the Northwest Athabasca Project in Saskatchewan. They have completed data compilation and reprocessing of historical electromagnetic surveys, enhancing targeting certainty for a planned drilling program in winter 2025. This development intends to follow-up on areas of high uranium potential, building on exploration activities dating back to the 1970s.
Rick Mazur, CEO of Forum, highlighted the excitement surrounding the drilling resumption in this notable part of the Athabasca Basin. Past campaigns, like the 2013 drilling, revealed significant uranium mineralization. The upcoming program will focus on targets like the Andy, Zone 2A, and Opie areas, utilizing re-analyzed geophysical data to guide drill targeting.
The exploration at the Northwest Athabasca Project is crucial since it has a rich history of uranium findings. However, historical resource estimates have not been verified conforming to current standards. The project, covering 13,876 hectares, awaits final community engagement and government approvals to proceed.
