Gerresheimer Commences Operations at New Plant in Zhenjiang Dagang

Gerresheimer AG has announced the start of operations at its new plant in Zhenjiang Dagang, China. This facility, constructed over four years, encompasses 40,000 m² and adheres to strict industry standards. It aims to double Gerresheimer's production capacity for primary packaging for injectable pharmaceuticals in China.

The plant, which will create approximately 300 regional jobs, produces vials and ampoules primarily for the Chinese market. This marks a milestone in the 20-year collaboration with Shuangfeng Glass. The facility features cutting-edge glass forming lines and automation, underlining sustainability with a 2-MWp rooftop photovoltaic system and efficient resource usage.

Complying with China's GMP standards, the plant includes over 2,700 m² of cleanroom space and advanced quality management systems. This expansion supports Gerresheimer's ambitions in the dynamic Chinese market and strengthens their position as a prominent supplier in Asia.
