Gerresheimer Finalizes Sale of Centor, Aiming to Reduce Debt
Gerresheimer AG has completed the sale of its subsidiary Centor, signaling a strategic move to reduce its debt. The transaction closed within two months following standard closings. The sale is part of an agreement with funds advised by Apax Partners LLP. The enterprise value for Centor and Gerresheimer’s global Primary Packaging Plastics business totals approximately EUR 1.5 billion, with Centor comprising roughly half.
Proceeds from the Centor sale will help Gerresheimer lower its debt levels. The sale of the Primary Packaging Plastics business is expected to conclude in the first half of 2027. CFO Wolf Lehmann emphasized that these steps will position Gerresheimer on a more stable financial footing.
With expectations of further cash inflows, Gerresheimer plans comprehensive refinancing. The company aims to refocus on core business areas with strong growth potential.
