Deadline Extension for Semmelweis-Richter Journalism Award

The Semmelweis-Richter Journalism Award application deadline has been extended by two weeks due to strong interest. Applicants now have until June 23, 2026, to submit their works. This award recognizes excellent journalism that enhances the public's understanding of health issues in Europe. It is organized by Semmelweis University, in partnership with Gedeon Richter, a pharmaceutical company based in Hungary.

Entries are sought in categories focusing on Women's Health and Pharmaceutical Strategies, with an emphasis on cardiovascular therapies. Past entries included articles from major European outlets, showing the award's wide impact. Submitted articles must have been published between March 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026. Each participant may submit two articles total, one per category.

A total prize fund of €45,000 awaits, with the first place in each category receiving €10,000. Winners will be announced in July 2026 and honored at a ceremony in October 2026 in Budapest.
