Gan & Lee Partners with Menarini to Introduce Bofanglutide in Europe

Gan & Lee Pharmaceuticals has announced an exclusive license agreement with The Menarini Group to advance the drug bofanglutide across Europe. The glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist, developed by Gan & Lee, targets obesity and is administered bi-weekly. The deal involves an upfront payment of EUR 62million and potential milestone payments up to EUR 664million, along with royalties from net sales.

Menarini will oversee regulatory submissions and commercialization in 39 countries, including EU member states and the UK. Bofanglutide has shown positive results in weight management studies in China and the US, meeting key milestones. This partnership aligns with Menarini's strategy to expand in the metabolic space and broadens Gan & Lee's presence in regulated markets.

This agreement is pivotal for both firms, enhancing Gan & Lee’s global strategy while supporting Menarini's growth in metabolic care. The collaboration aims to efficiently bring this promising treatment to patients throughout Europe.
