GAC Boosts China's Auto Globalization Amidst Rising Overseas Sales

During the 2026 Two Sessions in Beijing, GAC Group's Chairman, Feng Xingya, emphasized the global expansion of China's automotive industry. For the third consecutive year, China remains the world's largest auto exporter, with GAC leading this new growth phase. In the first two months of 2026, GAC's overseas deliveries surged, with a 114% increase in February and an 86% rise in cumulative sales compared to last year.

The Asia-Pacific region saw GAC's sales rise by 130%, particularly in Singapore, Indonesia, and the Philippines. The Middle East experienced a 282% increase in sales, with remarkable growth figures in Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. In Europe, Greece's market showed over a 20% increase in February, suggesting improving acceptance of Chinese vehicles.

Challenges remain due to diverse technical standards and regulatory differences. Industry leaders call for harmonized standards, with initiatives like global compliance databases and unified certification platforms to facilitate market entry. GAC's strategy combines growth with localization to enhance international competitiveness.
