On November 5, 2026, freenet AG announced a strategic financial decision approved by its Supervisory Board. The decision involves a share buyback program worth up to EUR 75 million, funded by proceeds from selling its Ceconomy shares. This move aligns with freenet's plan to optimize capital allocation and shareholder returns.

The buyback will be executed through stock market transactions during the 2026 and/or 2027 financial years. The initial EUR 76 million acquisition of waipu.tv, detailed in a previous corporate news release, was also part of the strategic allocation of funds.

This initiative is supported by a mandate from the Annual General Meeting held on May 13, 2026, allowing freenet to repurchase up to 10% of its share capital. The acquired shares will subsequently be canceled to reduce share capital.
