La Française de l'Énergie Secures Key Permit for Hydrogen Exploration in France
La Française de l'Énergie (FDE) has obtained the exclusive "Trois Évêchés" exploration permit, marking a significant step in natural hydrogen exploration in France. This grant positions FDE as a frontrunner in the strategic energy sector, crucial for European energy sovereignty. Located in Moselle and Meurthe-et-Moselle, the permit spans 2,254 km², highlighting the area's potential for natural hydrogen reserves.
Preliminary drilling results in Moselle indicate a substantial increase in hydrogen concentration at medium depth, aligning with FDE's objectives under the REGALOR II program. This initiative aims to explore hydrogen formation mechanisms and industrial-scale extraction methods. Supported by an €8.8M subsidy, FDE plans extensive drilling and assessments by 2031, potentially positioning France as a leader in this emerging energy market.
