Ford and Geely Collaborate to Produce Multi-Energy Vehicles in Europe
Ford Motor Company and Geely Automobile Holdings have announced a joint venture aimed at producing next-generation multi-energy vehicles in Europe. The partnership will focus on Ford's Valencia plant in Spain, merging resources to manufacture both Ford and Geely vehicles for the European market by 2028.
This collaboration is designed to leverage the plant's capacity and respond to the market's challenges, such as intense competition, cost pressures, and regulatory demands. The Valencia facility will produce low- and zero-emission vehicles, including a new Ford crossover and electric Geely SUVs, while continuing Ford Kuga production.
Geely's presence in Europe will expand, and Ford plans to introduce five new passenger vehicles by 2029. This partnership reflects the brands' commitment to quality and innovation, aiming to strengthen the local economy and offer diverse vehicle options to European consumers.
