First Graphene Completes Historic Graphene-Enhanced Cement Production

First Graphene Ltd has announced the successful production of 600 tonnes of PureGRAPH® enhanced cement. This milestone marks a significant achievement in creating low-carbon cement, manufactured by Breedon Group at Hope Cement Works, UK. The innovative cement incorporates three tonnes of PureGRAPH-CEM®, enabling a reduction in CO2 emissions by up to 16%.

The graphene-enhanced cement is set for deployment across multiple projects in the UK, including concrete roof tiles for sustainable housing by FP McCann. Collaborations are underway with Morgan Sindall and Breedon to ensure efficient application in upcoming projects.

Trials will explore material use efficiencies, supported by Innovate UK funding. The cement's strength and performance will be evaluated by the University of Manchester. Requests for testing have emerged from various UK and Australian organisations, underlining the product's promising potential in sustainable construction.
