First Breach Drone Prototype Hits 161 km/h in Flight Testing

First Breach Inc., a U.S.-based defense technologies firm, announced a milestone in drone development. Their drone prototype achieved a speed of 161 km/h (100 mph) during flight tests, matching the top speed allowed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for small unmanned aircraft without a waiver. The company seeks FAA approval to test beyond this limit to explore the drone's full capabilities.

Co-founder Jeffrey Low highlighted the significance of this speed, emphasizing that speed equates to higher mission success in defense applications. The current drone configuration surpassed the previously stated 120 km/h specification.

First Breach aims to complete initial prototypes by the fourth quarter of 2026 and start mass production by mid-2027, targeting more than 2,500 units weekly. The firm is conducting the FAA waiver process in parallel with scaling up production.
