Finnvera Group's Financial Performance in H1 2026: A Detailed Analysis

In the first half of 2026, Finnvera Group reported significant growth in export financing while domestic financing lagged behind the previous period. The Group's result rose to EUR 348 million, a 132% increase from H1 2025. This improvement was primarily driven by higher reversals of loss provisions and increased net fee income. The balance sheet reached EUR 16.3 billion, reflecting a 5% rise, and contingent liabilities expanded by 16% to EUR 19.5 billion.

Domestic loans and guarantees decreased by 17%, while export credits surged by 67%. The maritime industry showed notable growth, with significant financing for the cruise shipping sector. SME and midcap businesses witnessed a downturn, whereas large corporates and Finnish Export Credit Ltd experienced notable profitability improvements.

Looking ahead, Finnvera plans a EUR 1 billion investment program to boost domestic projects, supporting growth and exports. The Group maintains a positive outlook for 2026, although international uncertainties, such as geopolitical tensions, remain a concern.
