Financially mixed results for Olympique Lyonnais Group in the first half of 2024/2025
Olympique Lyonnais Groupe's first half of 2024/2025 saw mixed results. Revenue from operations, excluding player trading, increased by 7% to €82.9 million. However, total revenues declined significantly by 32% to €117.6 million. This decrease was driven by a significant decline in player contract sales, from €94.9 million to €34.7 million.
Gross operating surplus (EBITDA) fell to -€46.1 million, compared to €7.6 million the previous year, due to reduced trading activity. Net profit attributable to equity holders of the parent widened to -€117.0 million, impacted in particular by the increase in personnel costs and depreciation and amortization.
Ticket revenue increased by 12%, benefiting from participation in the Europa League. TV and marketing rights saw a strong increase of 55%, offset by the decline in domestic rights. Despite these challenges, the group is continuing its cost-cutting plan to achieve positive EBITDA for the 2025/2026 financial year.
