Extension Approved for PEL 87 Exploration License
On March 18, 2026, Sintana Energy Inc. announced an extension to the First Renewal Exploration Period of its Petroleum Exploration License 87 (PEL 87) in Namibia's Orange Basin. Pancontinental Energy Limited, the operator and joint venture partner, received approval from the Namibian Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy for a 12-month extension until January 22, 2027.
During this period, the project will focus on an Environmental Impact Assessment, reprocessing 3D seismic data, and drilling an exploration well. The seismic work aims to enhance signal quality in targeted areas. CEO Robert Bose expressed gratitude for the extension and the company's intention to continue refining seismic data to attract potential partners for future drilling.
