Executive Board Changes at Hapag-Lloyd AG

Hapag-Lloyd AG has announced a change in its Executive Board. Dr. Maximilian Rothkopf, the current Chief Operating Officer, will step down on June 30, 2026, by mutual agreement. Despite leaving the Executive Board, Dr. Rothkopf will continue to support the company in an advisory role to facilitate a smooth transition.

Dr. Rothkopf joined the Group Executive Board on May 1, 2019, and took on operational responsibility for the company's global shipping business on July 1, 2019. During his tenure, he significantly contributed to modernizing and decarbonizing Hapag-Lloyd’s fleet, enhancing the company's operational performance, and strategic realignment.

The Supervisory Board expressed gratitude for Dr. Rothkopf's commitment and efforts. His successor will be determined at a future date.
