Exail Technologies Divests Exail Automation Subsidiary

Exail Technologies has announced the sale of its Automation business as part of a strategy to streamline its portfolio and boost profitability. The unit was acquired by its current managing director, with the transaction effective from May 2026. This division employs 16 people and reported €13 million in revenue for 2025.

The Automation business, which operates under the Advanced Technologies segment, provides industrial solutions to the aerospace sector. However, it has limited synergies with Exail's primary focus on maritime drone systems and inertial navigation, presenting specific risks due to the cyclic nature of aerospace projects.

Despite posting negative results for several years, the unit neared a break-even point in 2025. The sale received approval from employee representatives, and is intended to place the business in a better position for its industrial and cyclical needs. The divestment will allow Exail to enhance profitability in its core business areas.
