EVN AG Enters German E-Mobility Market with Strategic Acquisition

EVN AG has announced its expansion into the German e-mobility market by acquiring BayWa Mobility Charging GmbH (BMC). This move enables EVN to enhance its fast charging infrastructure through its subsidiary, EVN Energieservices GmbH. The purchase of 100% shares in BMC marks EVN’s strategic entry into Germany, extending its e-mobility reach beyond Austria.

BMC currently operates 30 high-power charging (HPC) locations across Germany, with plans to expand to 54 locations by 2027. The primary focus lies in Bavaria, with operations also in Baden-Württemberg and North Rhine-Westphalia. All sites utilize standardized European fast charging technology.

The acquisition aligns with EVN’s strategy to broaden its public fast charging network, tapping into Germany’s large e-mobility market of approximately two million battery electric vehicles. Stefan Szyszkowitz highlights this as a pivotal step in reinforcing EVN’s position in the growing European e-mobility market.
