EV Nickel Secures Unpatented Mining Claim in Langmuir Township
EV Nickel Inc. (TSX-V:EVNI) has announced the acquisition of an unpatented mining claim covering the historic Langmuir South Zone. The area is famed for its high-grade nickel sulphides and is located about 25 km southeast of Timmins. This strategic claim includes significant portions of the Langmuir #2 mining infrastructure, such as a capped mine shaft.
The Langmuir #2 Nickel Mine, closed in 1978, holds historical reserves of 544,311 tonnes grading 1.45% Ni. This data is referenced in Ontario's geological records but hasn't been classified as current mineral resources by EV Nickel. Paul Davis, VP of Exploration, highlighted this acquisition as crucial for exploring and expanding known high-grade nickel mineralization.
The company has also applied for an exploration permit with the Ontario Ministry of Energy and Mines, aiming to commence drilling activities by the end of 2025.
