Eutelsat and French Armed Forces Secure Satellite Deal

Eutelsat, in collaboration with the French Ministry of the Armed Forces, has secured the CENTAURE contract under the NEXUS framework agreement. This contract aims to enhance France's military satellite communications through sovereign Low Earth Orbit capabilities. Valued at up to €350 million, the contract includes an initial commitment of €138 million over four years.

The NEXUS initiative seeks to bolster France's satellite infrastructure by integrating commercial capabilities with sovereign assets. Eutelsat's OneWeb constellation plays a pivotal role, offering secure and low-latency satellite services to meet France's strategic military needs.

This partnership exemplifies the blend of commercial and sovereign operations to address the growing demand for resilient military communication amidst global geopolitical challenges. It sets the groundwork for future enhancements under the European IRIS² programme.
