Eurobattery Minerals to Reapply for Hautalampi Strategic Project Status

Eurobattery Minerals AB, a mining company listed on Nordic Growth Market and Börse Stuttgart, reports receipt of an assessment from the European Commission regarding the Hautalampi mine’s application under the Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA). The mine was not initially granted Strategic Project status due to the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) linked to Regulation (EU) 2024/1252. The European Commission invites Eurobattery Minerals to reapply.

The report highlights issues related to Article 6(1) of Regulation (EU) 2024/1252 concerning the EIA, a crucial part of the submitted Environmental Permit Application. Eurobattery Minerals is working with Finnish authorities to resolve these concerns.

CEO Roberto García-Martínez expresses optimism about reapplying once the European Commission opens a new call. The company is expected to submit the EPA supplement soon to address raised issues. FinnCobalt Oy, a subsidiary, aims to meet environmental regulations and high ESG standards.
