EQS Group Gains SBTi Validation for Climate Goals
EQS Group has received validation from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets. The SBTi, which supports companies in setting measurable climate-based emissions targets, confirmed that EQS Group's goals for 2030 and 2050 align with their Corporate Net-Zero Standard. This emphasizes both immediate and sustained emissions cuts across company operations and supply chains.
EQS Group aims for net-zero GHG emissions across its value chain by 2050. By 2030, it targets an 85% reduction in scope 1 and 2 emissions and a 51.6% decrease in scope 3 emissions per EUR value added. Looking forward to 2050, the company is committed to reducing scope 1 and 2 emissions by 90% and scope 3 emissions by 97%.
EQS currently uses renewable electricity at its primary sites in Germany and Spain, promotes sustainable commuting, and reports its emissions annually. Founder and CEO Achim Weick highlighted the importance of transparency and accountability in their emissions reduction efforts.
