ENGIE Secures Major Power Transmission Projects in Peru
ENGIE has been awarded four significant power transmission projects in Peru through a competitive tender by ProInversión, under a 30-year concession. These projects involve constructing over 400 km of new transmission lines, creating six new substations, and expanding ten existing substations across the regions of Piura, Lambayeque, Junín, and Ayacucho. Key infrastructure includes the 500 kV Miguel Grau–Pariñas Transmission Line and the 220 kV Felam–Tierras, Nuevas–Salitral lines.
This initiative, with an investment exceeding US$230 million, aims to fortify Peru's electricity network, enhancing reliability and integrating renewable energy sources. Expected to commence in 2031, the projects will benefit around 1.6 million people.
With these additions, ENGIE will operate approximately 650 km of transmission lines in Peru and aims to reach 10,000 km across Latin America by 2030, reinforcing its leadership in the region's energy infrastructure.
