ENGIE Expands Electric Vehicle Charging Network in Europe
ENGIE, through its brand ENGIE Vianeo, has announced plans to accelerate the rollout of its electric vehicle charging infrastructure across Europe. The company secured a contract to install nearly 3,000 charging points in Wallonia, Belgium. This move positions ENGIE as a key player in the Belgian market, aiming for a total of 12,000 charging points by 2028.
The goal is to deploy 2,926 charging points with 22 kW power across the Walloon Region. These points will be located in strategic public areas and operated by ENGIE Vianeo for the next decade. This initiative follows a recent contract in the Brussels-Capital Region, making ENGIE Vianeo the leader in Belgium with nearly 7,000 charging points.
On a broader scale, ENGIE is aiming to reach 25,000 charging points across Europe by 2030, solidifying its status among the top five public electric vehicle charging operators. The development underscores ENGIE's commitment to supporting the energy transition and contributing to decarbonizing transportation.
