Energiekontor AG, based in Bremen, is enhancing its wind park operations using the Smart Windfarm Controller (SWFC), after successful trials in the UK. This technology coordinates wind turbines collectively, improving energy yields through a method called wake steering. By slightly adjusting the position of upwind turbines, downstream turbines experience better wind conditions, leading to increased electricity production.

Additionally, the SWFC fine-tunes turbine alignment with wind vane calibration, shown to boost individual turbine output. Initial implementations in UK parks Withernwick and Hyndburn confirm the system's potential.
