Energiekontor Commissions Oederquart Wind Park, Expands Portfolio
Energiekontor AG, a prominent German developer of wind and solar parks, has launched the repowered Oederquart wind park, augmenting their portfolio by approximately 17 MW to a total of around 450 MW. Currently, over 200 MW are under construction and expected to expand the portfolio to about 650 MW. The Oederquart park, originally constructed over 25 years ago, now hosts six new Enercon E-160 EP-5 turbines, replacing the older models, and is predicted to yield approximately 80 GWh annually, supplying renewable energy to around 24,000 homes and saving 60,000 tonnes of CO2 yearly.
The company's repowering project, supported by an EEG feed-in tariff since 2023, reflects Energiekontor's commitment to enhancing renewable energy capacity in Germany. CEO Peter Szabo highlights the significance of upgrading existing infrastructures with advanced technology to ensure stable long-term returns. In 2026, the expansion will continue with wind and solar projects adding over 120 MW to the portfolio, maintaining Energiekontor's leadership in renewable energy development.
