Energiekontor AG Commissions Elsdorf Wind Parks, Boosting 2026 Earnings
Energiekontor AG has successfully commissioned the Elsdorf-Frankeshoven and Elsdorf-Tollhausen wind parks on schedule. Both projects, sold to the town of Elsdorf in 2025, are expected to positively impact Energiekontor's earnings for 2026. The Bremen-based company will continue to manage the parks technically and commercially, despite the sale.
The Elsdorf wind parks feature seven Nordex N149 turbines with a combined capacity of 40 megawatts. Annually, they are projected to generate 90 gigawatt-hours, powering over 27,000 households and reducing CO₂ emissions by 68,000 tonnes. These projects, awarded contracts under Germany's Renewable Energy Sources Act, illustrate effective local energy initiatives.
Elsdorf now fully owns the wind parks, benefiting long-term from revenue while contributing to regional energy supply. This partnership showcases successful municipal involvement in renewable energy projects.
