Encavis Launches 15 MW Battery Storage in the Netherlands
Encavis, an independent power producer (IPP) based in Hamburg, has successfully launched a 15 MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Beemte Broekland, near Apeldoorn, Netherlands. The system, now fully operational, marks a significant step in expanding Encavis's battery storage portfolio.
The BESS, with a storage capacity of 30 MWh, enhances the flexibility and stability of the Dutch electricity system. It provides fast and reliable balancing services, aiding the integration of renewable energy when and where needed.
Co-located with the Encavis solar park Bloemenkamp, the system stores locally generated solar power, for dispatch during high-demand periods. It participates in markets like Frequency Containment Reserve (FCR) and congestion management.
The project showcases strong collaboration with Green Energy Storage, Alfen, CATL EnerOne+, and Greenchoice, combining expertise in development, engineering, and system integration.
