ElringKlinger Appoints Ulrich Zimmer as Chief Operating Officer
ElringKlinger AG has announced the appointment of Ulrich Zimmer as the new Chief Operating Officer, taking over from Reiner Drews, who will depart on March 31, 2026. Zimmer will manage three business units and oversee production, quality, purchasing, real estate, supply chain management, and innovation and R&D areas.
Helmut P. Merch, Chairman of ElringKlinger's Supervisory Board, highlighted Zimmer's extensive experience in the automotive sector, particularly his proficiency in optimizing operational processes and fostering innovation. Zimmer, currently Senior Vice President R&D at Traton SE, has a rich background with major achievements in electromobility and powertrain production.
Zimmer is expected to officially join ElringKlinger in the course of 2026, bringing his invaluable industry experience and strategic vision to the company.
