Elmos Semiconductor SE Wins 2026 German Innovation Award

Elmos Semiconductor SE has received the 2026 German Innovation Award for its groundbreaking Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG). Recognized in the "Medium-Sized Companies" category, the QRNG offers enhanced encryption in the AI and quantum computing era. The award, one of Germany's most esteemed for technological advancements, was presented in Leverkusen on April 20, 2026.

The Elmos QRNG is a semiconductor solution that generates true random numbers via quantum processes. This advancement ensures robust cryptographic security against various external factors. The QRNG is integrated onto a single chip using standard CMOS technology, making it cost and energy efficient, and suitable for automotive, communication, and IoT applications.

At just 2 mm x 2 mm, Elmos' QRNG is the smallest of its kind. Dr. Jan Dienstuhl, Chief Sales Officer at Elmos, highlighted the company's dedication to enhancing digital security. Elmos plans to license this technology to other manufacturers, thus bolstering digital infrastructure protection.
