Eiffage wins a major contract for NSC2 in Germany
Eiffage, through its Belgian subsidiary Smulders, announced that NSORe, a joint venture with Neptun Werft, has won the contract to build a 2-gigawatt converter station in Germany. This joint venture, specializing in offshore HVDC substations, was selected for this project by the operator 50Hertz. NSORe will collaborate with Siemens Energy, which will manage the high-voltage systems.
The NSC2 project includes an offshore platform and an onshore station. NSORe will handle the engineering and construction of the topside platform, while Siemens Energy will be responsible for the onshore station. The platform is scheduled to be commissioned by the end of 2034.
