Eiffage Secures Contract for Offshore Converter Station in Germany
Eiffage, through its Belgian subsidiary Smulders, has formed the joint venture NSORe (Neptun Smulders Offshore Renewables) with Neptun Werft, part of the Meyer Werft group. NSORe, alongside Siemens Energy, has been awarded a contract by 50Hertz, the transmission system operator in Germany, to build a 2-gigawatt converter station for the NSC2 offshore grid connection project.
The awarded project includes an offshore platform and onshore station. The consortium is tasked with the system's complete implementation, from planning to commissioning. NSORe is responsible for engineering and constructing the topside and jacket foundation, with production in Rostock and Vlissingen. Siemens Energy will handle high-voltage elements. Commissioning for the NSC2 platform is set for end of 2034.
