EcoGraf Plans 25,000tpa Purification Facility in Germany
EcoGraf Limited is moving forward with plans to establish a 25,000 tonnes per annum EcoGraf HFfree® purification facility in Germany. This initiative aims to enhance battery manufacturing across Europe, particularly benefiting countries like Poland and Hungary. Support from German Government agencies, including Germany Trade & Invest, underscores the strategic importance of the site selection.
Alongside the German location, EcoGraf is considering other potential sites in Europe, Asia, and the U.S. for similar developments. A market study funded by the European Investment Bank is currently in progress to aid in this decision-making process.
This development is in line with broader European efforts to diversify graphite supply chains and reduce reliance on Chinese sources, as highlighted by recent KfW Research findings. EcoGraf's integrated mine-to-anode supply approach aligns with the European Commission's strategy to bolster secure and sustainable battery materials supply chains.
