DRONE VOLT Unveils LineDrone Variants for Power Grid Maintenance
DRONE VOLT, a leader in professional civilian drones, will present its power grid inspection solutions at CIGRE 2026 in Paris. The company highlights its LineDrone, the only drone capable of landing on live power lines, up to 765 kV, for inspection and maintenance. The global challenge of maintaining nearly 80 million kilometers of power grids involves substantial investments, around 300 to 400 billion euros annually.
Developed with Hydro-Québec, the LineDrone improves data collection by landing on energized extra-high-voltage lines. This facilitates precise mapping for predictive maintenance. Already adopted by operators like Hydro-Québec, the drone targets maintenance more effectively. Variants such as LineDrone DLR-SX, developed with Ampacimon, and LineDrone Coating enhance functionality. DRONE VOLT will also display other drones, including HERCULES 20 and KOBRA, tailored for grid operations.
