Domsjö Fabriker to Boost Sweden's Liquefied Biogas Supply with Adven
Domsjö Fabriker, a biorefinery based in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden, has announced plans to enhance its operations by producing liquefied biogas (LBG) as a substitute for fossil diesel in heavy transport. This initiative seeks a subsidy from Klimatklivet, Sweden's national climate investment program, aiming for a plant launch in the fourth quarter of 2028.
The project focuses on utilizing industry side streams and energy flows to produce LBG, with an expected annual reduction of 26,700 tonnes of CO2 emissions. Adven, an infrastructure partner, collaborates with Domsjö Fabriker in this venture. The local LBG production aims to bolster regional self-sufficiency and provides a strategic fossil-free alternative, especially vital for sectors reliant on heavy transport.
The project’s success hinges on acquiring necessary permits and climate investment subsidies. Efficient cooperation with local authorities is deemed crucial to meet the commissioning timeline.
