DJI Drones Boost Fawn Rescue Operations in Germany

DJI's collaboration with Rehkitz-Rettung Mangfalltal has significantly increased the efficiency of fawn rescues. Using DJI Matrice 4T and 4TD thermal imaging drones, the Bavarian organization has ramped up its annual fawn rescues from around 15 to over 300. These thermal imaging drones help locate fawns hidden in meadow grass before mowing season begins.

The Matrice 4 Series drones can stay airborne longer and cover more ground compared to previous technologies. Enhanced features include Real-Time Kinematic positioning for precise location accuracy. This advancement allows operators to pinpoint fawns' exact positions, facilitating quicker and more effective rescues.

Previously reliant on labor-intensive human chains, the organization now uses drones to spot and guide ground teams to rescue fawns efficiently. This approach aids both wildlife conservation and farming operations by ensuring meadows are free from hidden animals.
