Derichebourg's Strong Financial Performance Amidst Resilient Metal Demand
Derichebourg has reported substantial gains in net profit and EBITDA, driven by improved volumes and margins within its Recycling division. First-half revenue reached €1.83 billion, marking a 7.8% increase from the previous year, bolstered by significant contributions from both the Recycling and Public Sector Services divisions.
The Recycling business itself posted a 7.9% revenue growth, reflecting enhanced demand for non-ferrous metals, particularly copper. Despite a drop in ferrous scrap metal prices, a surge in demand from electric steel mills contributed positively to the sector's performance.
The group's EBITDA rose by 9.7% to €177.8 million, with recurring operating profit increasing by 23.0% compared to the previous year. Derichebourg continues to benefit from strong market conditions and regulatory support, with the anticipated acquisition of Scholz Recycling set to enhance its portfolio further.
