Delivery Hero and Uber Join Forces to Enhance Services
Delivery Hero SE and Uber Technologies, Inc. are set to merge their operations, expanding their reach to 99 countries. With a combined pro-forma GMV of $236 billion anticipated by 2025, this alliance aims to enhance service range and value for customers. Uber will offer Delivery Hero shareholders €41.50 per share, valuing the company at €13 billion, representing a significant premium over recent share prices.
The merger promises to speed up innovation in the mobility and delivery sectors, leveraging each company's strengths. Uber commits to maintaining Delivery Hero's Berlin headquarters and workforce until 2029, while investing €2 billion in Germany by 2031. This strategic move is backed by Delivery Hero's management and supervisory boards, who recommend shareholders accept the offer.
Additionally, SSW Partners will acquire Delivery Hero operations in 14 markets, reflecting a new chapter for the logistics and quick commerce segments. The completion of Uber's takeover is expected in the second half of 2027, pending regulatory approvals and acceptance thresholds.
