Delivery Hero to Divest Taiwan Operations to Grab for $600 Million

Delivery Hero has announced its decision to sell its Taiwan food delivery operations to Grab Holdings for USD 600 million. This strategic move is part of the company's ongoing review to optimize its capital structure and increase shareholder value. The transaction, however, awaits regulatory approval and is expected to conclude in the second half of 2026.

Delivery Hero plans to use the proceeds to repay debt and for other general corporate purposes. CEO Niklas Östberg emphasized the importance of the deal, acknowledging the contribution of the foodpanda team in Taiwan and highlighting the move as a step forward in the company's transformation into an Everyday App.

Grab's expansion into Taiwan, its first venture outside Southeast Asia, aligns with its growth strategy. With a GMV of EUR 1.5 billion in 2025, the Taiwan operations are positioned for a seamless transition to new ownership, ensuring continued service for local customers and partners.
